SDSPLC technology delivers 10/100Mbps IEEE802.3 conducted Ethernet communications over ordinary power wire.
Two SDSPLC-Eth PLC Modules in a 12VDC Powerline plain wire network are shown in Prod 1 photo below.
To add a third or more nodes just connect modules to the same 12VDC power wiring. An optional password creates a unique encryption key to protect network data. Only modules with the same password will communicate with each other. Multiple networks may exist on the same power wiring and share the 100Mbps data transfer band width. A PC based utility program sets the unique password key, displays members of the network and data rate available for SDSPLC modules. The network password is also easy to set using a push physical button procedure rather than a PC utility program.

Test1MAC.exe
Network Software Programs Provide New Test Bench Debug Tools Sun Digital Systems offers Ethernet PLC Troubleshooting test bench hardware and software support including Test1MAC. Test1MAC.exe is a Windows compatible test program to interrogate and determine the status of Qualcomm PLC integrated circuits. Hardware response tests are initiated by Test1MAC.exe using only the device MAC address. The Test1MAC.exe test program is based on and is functionally dependent on the Qualcomm PLC Toolkit available from Qualcomm and GitHub.com. Download Test1MAC.exe Datasheet |
Assembled and tested PLC boards are available now. Custom PCB hardware design services offered.
Method of Operation
Up to 100Mbps Ethernet communications signals are conducted through existing 12VDC power wiring. No new wiring or Ethernet communication cable is needed. Simply connect two modules to the same 12 volt power wire and a netorks is automatically formed. The power distribution wiring provides both the data transfer media and electrical power for the communication modules. 24VDC and AC powered product in development. using ordinary WiFi Compatibility SDSPLC supplements wireless WiFi networks by providing a second independent data path. This second data network decreases the WiFi traffic load and increasing radio bandwidth available to equipment only connected by WiFi. SDSPLC uses the same Ethernet data format as WiFi and can be directly linked. |
Radiated and conducted communication complement each other and work together in the same system. Information is available anywhere and everywhere by using both conducted and radio communication methods.
As part of a hybrid network, SDSPLC enabled equipment support wired equipment communications while freeing up wireless bandwidth for mobile devices not typically connected to power distribution wiring. This improves radiated data bandwidth available to equipment that can only access information via the wireless network. Redundancy and error checking are just a few of the advantages of SDSPLC |

IoT is as important in a vehicle, vessel or aircraft as it is in the home. The Internet of Things concept is the world wide network of physical devices, vehicles, home appliances, and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity which enable these objects to connect and exchange data via the internet.
